How AI Analyzes Your Face: The Science Behind Face Card Scores
Ever wondered how FaceCard calculates your face card score? Let's dive into the fascinating science behind AI facial analysis.
68 Facial Landmarks
Our AI uses face-api.js to detect 68 specific landmarks on your face. These include:
- Eye corners and pupils
- Nose bridge and nostrils
- Mouth corners and lips
- Eyebrow shape and position
- Jawline and chin contour
Key Analysis Factors
1. Facial Symmetry
AI measures the distance between key points on each side of your face from the centerline. Perfect symmetry is rare, but higher symmetry correlates with perceived attractiveness.
2. Jawline Definition
The angle and structure of your jawline are measured. A well-defined jaw (typically 75-90 degrees) scores higher and is associated with attractiveness.
3. Face Proportions
AI evaluates ratios like inter-eye distance to eye width (ideal: ~1:1), face width to height (ideal: ~0.8), and mouth width to face width (ideal: ~0.45).
4. Skin Quality
Pixel analysis measures skin texture variance and under-eye darkness. Smoother, clearer skin with less under-eye shadow scores higher.
Privacy-First Processing
All analysis happens locally in your browser using WebGL. Your photo is never uploaded to any server, ensuring 100% privacy.
